So I saw this cool thing called whipped honey.... and I didn't really understand it. Why would I want whipped honey? Now the hubs and I enjoy honey everyday. He puts it in his coffee and I put it on peanut butter and eat it with apples every morning for breakfast.
But why whipped instead of regular honey?
I didn't know.
Then one day I was grabbing another jar of honey from storage and found a jar from the first time we robbed our hives. Like 10 years ago.... This led me down memory lane and got me all nostalgic seeing as this jar of honey had made two moves with us. Why had we not used it already? It appeared to have crystalized which made me think this was may have been why it was pushed to the back over the years.
This got me to thinking maybe now was a good time to try try whipped honey. So I poured out what I could and used a spoon to empty the jar of honey into my Kitchen Aid mixer bowl. I turned my mixer on and watched the magic happen!
Suddenly the thick honey become light and almost fluffy looking right before my eyes! Once it appeared to be done I placed it in a clean mason jar and voila! Beauty in a jar!
Now having tried it I am a huge fan of whipped honey! For the hubs coffee there really isn't much difference but for putting it on my apples it spreads so much smoother.
Does it taste different? No not at all.
All it did was decrystalize the honey by mixing it all back together. For spreading on toast or biscuits the whipped is definitely easier.
Give it a try!
