Pretzel Bars

Today Maddie wanted to make something sweet that we only make near the holiday's... who was I to tell her no.

This recipe started out as a Pinterest fail / success. A fail in that ours never turns out as pretty as the original and success because they taste amazing! Here is where we got the original recipe. Over time Maddie has modified her version a little in that we no longer drizzle neatly but just spread it around. And depending on your love of peanut butter you can add more or less. (Maddie usually opts for less on one side of the pan)

Supplies
- One bag of Chocolate Chips (we prefer milk chocolate)
- One bag of Kraft Caramel Bits
- 1/2 cup Reese's Peanut Butter Chips
- Mini Twist Pretzels
- Parchment Paper

Directions
  1. Get out a cookie sheet and line it with parchment paper
  2. Measure out 1/4 cup of your milk chocolate chips and set them aside for later
  3. Pour the remainder of the chocolate chips into a bowl and melt in the microwave at 30 second intervals until melted (translation microwave for 30 seconds - stir - repeat until melted.)
  4. S
  5. pread the melted chocolate out onto your parchment paper and spread it around
  6. Place pretzels around on your chocolate. We arrange whole pretzels and then break some into pieces to fill in the gaps.
  7. Take the entire bag of Kraft caramel bits and place them in a bowl with 2 Tablespoons of water. Melt in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Stir and melt longer if needed. Once melted spread over the pretzels.
  8. Let it cool. This is a good time to wash out your caramel bowl before it hardens.
  9. Take your 1/2 cup Reese's Peanut Butter Chips and melt in the microwave at 30 second intervals. Once melted spread it over the pretzels.
  10. Take that remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips and melt them. Drizzle (or spread) this around on your mixture.
  11. Place cookie sheet in the refrigerator about 15 mins to cool.
  12. Use pizza cutter to easily cut bars into squares and enjoy!
