Have you seen the information floating around Facebook about fruits keeping longer if you put them in a Mason Jar?
I love Mason Jars! And use them all around the house so of course I wanted to give this new found information a try.
I immediately noticed it worked for the strawberries. Strawberries tend to go bad pretty quick in my opinion. These kept in a jar a little over a week before Maddie finished them off. At that time they still looked fresh and tasted fresh.
But why not turn this into a homeschool experiment. We decided to observe the grapes over a 2 week period.
Here is a close up. The grapes that have been kept in the Mason Jar still look fresh and taste crisp. The grapes that were left in the bag have shriveled and changed color. I would not eat them... But the goats will enjoy them!
So in conclusion it's Mason Jars for the win! And they look so much nicer in your fridge.
Have you tried this? Did you think it worked?
